REDLANDS, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2015) – Senior Patric Eck (Fullerton, Calif. / Troy) bagged a brace for the Caltech men's water polo team at DIII No. 5 University of Redlands on Saturday morning.
The Bulldogs shot out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, recording a 21-3 final to improve to 11-11 overall and 2-1 in the SCIAC while the Beavers drop to 7-11 (0-2).
Redlands took control from the outset, shutting the Beavers out in the first quarter and holding a 10-1 lead at halftime. The second half went no better for Caltech as the hosts posted an 11-2 advantage, converting a whopping 66 percent of their attempts on goal.
Senior James Blackwood (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula) notched Caltech's other goal while freshmen Charles Ross (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) and John Lloyd (San Diego, Calif. / Torrey Pines) each made six saves in net.
Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers host DIII No. 9 California Lutheran University (7-10, 1-2) on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m.
