Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CLAREMONT, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2017) – The Caltech men's water polo team wrapped up the Gary Troyer Tournament with a victory over Connecticut College to make it three for the weekend on Saturday.

Game 1: McKendree 17, Caltech 10

The Beavers featured in a big offensive first period with McKendree University. The two teams put up a combined 10 goals and the Beavers had four different goal scorers over the stretch. Freshmen Rahul Arun (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai E Stevenson) and Steven Csaposs ( Davis, Calif. / Davis) ultimately led the team with three goals each. Csaposs also led the Beavers with 10 total shots as the Beavers outshot the Bearcats. Sophomore goalkeeper Bradley Justice (El Cajon, Calif. / Grossmont) made four saves.

Game 2: Caltech 15, Connecticut College 10

Caltech played an overall better game in Saturday's second game against Connecticut College. While the Camels scored half their goals in the first period, the Beavers managed six goals of their own and tightened up defensively to hold their opponents to just four goals over the final three periods. Csaposs once again had himself a nice game offensively with five goals. Another freshman, Neil Sanderson (Laguna Beach, Calif. / Winchester) also scored five times and contributed defensively with two steals. Junior Charles Ross (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) and freshman Alex Janosi (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Dexter) also had two steals each and Janosi went perfect on sprints once again. Janosi's speed was on full display as he had the Beavers' only drawn exclusion of the game. Junior goalie John Lloyd relieved Justice for the second half and made five saves while the aforementioned Justice also made five saves. The Beavers led the Camels 10-8 at halftime. The win moves the Beavers back to .500 (7-7 overall, 1-3 SCIAC).

Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will return home for the first time since beating Occidental when they host Chapman University on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
