Box Score PASADENA, Calif. (Nov. 6, 2021) – Caltech opened its last homestand of the 2021 season Saturday morning against the Whittier College Poets.
Working with just one player on the bench, it was a marathon of a game for the Beavers, who battled the full 32 minutes and scored in every quarter.
Freshman Sean Zheng (San Marino, Calif. / Polytechnic School) commenced the scoring for Caltech in the first quarter with a high floater to the far post that beat the Whittier goalie. Zheng later added an assist, two sprint wins and two steals in his all-around effort.
Sophomore Perry Samimy (Miami, Fla. / Ransom Everglades) led the Beavers with 12 shots for three goals along with four steals in the game. Close behind was junior James Bowden (Los Angeles, Calif. / Granada Hills Charter) who scored twice, also tallying an assist, a drawn exclusion and a steal.
Junior Max Bricken (Portland, Ore. / Westview) made a team-high two assists along with a steal and a drawn exclusion.
Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers host California Lutheran University on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 4:00 p.m.
