CLAREMONT, Calif. – Caltech Baseball wrapped up the month of March with a Friday afternoon road game at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
Facing tough pitching and a strong opponent in the Sagehens, it was senior
Will Dembski whose bat drove home Caltech's three runs with a two-out, three RBI double deep down the left field line. Teammates
Edward Speer,
Gautam Chawla and
Thorsen Kristufek all scored on the play, boosting Dembski's RBI count to 18 this season and 49 in his third season with the Beavers.
Senior pitcher
Arya Mevada threw a solid 3.1 innings in relief to close out the game for the Caltech defense, allowing no runs and just two hits while striking out two Pomona-Pitzer batters.
Sophomore
Jack Fishel connected for a pair of hits, as did junior
Leo Jenkins for his second consecutive two-hit game against a SCIAC opponent.
Head Coach
Kevin Whitehead and the Beavers will host the Sagehens tomorrow for a Saturday doubleheader, beginning at 11 a.m. at Caltech's North Field. Watch live on the
