CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Caltech men's basketball team took on the third-place Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in a Saturday afternoon SCIAC matchup.
Dominating the scoring from long range was first-year
Ryan Hu (Bellevue, Wash. / Newport), who hit a trio of three-pointers while shooting 63 percent from the field and led Caltech in scoring with 18 points, his second-highest single-game point total of the season.
Sophomore
Noah Hicks (Oxford, Ga. / George Walton Academy) followed closely with 15 points including a pair of threes and 7-for-8 free throw shooting, further collecting four rebounds and dishing a game-high four assists.
Other playmakers were junior
Riley Wood (Richmond, Va. / St. Christopher's School) and rookie
Andrew Koclanes (Denver / Colorado Academy) with three assists each, while Wood and freshman
Pranit Gunjal (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) each grabbed a game high total of seven rebounds. Gunjal also blocked two shots and assisted one Caltech basket.
