Men's Tennis Defeats Whitman College

PASADENA, Calif. – The Caltech men's tennis team bounced back on Saturday morning with a commanding 6-3 win over the Whitman College Blues of Walla Walla, Washington.

The Beavers got the edge in the doubles session, with matching 8-4 wins in first doubles by Kyle McCandless and Daniel Wen, and on third doubles by the duo of Eric He and Aditya Srinivasan.

After the break, Caltech took a third match point in #3 Singles as Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne held on for a 6-2, 7-5 win, with senior Daniel Wen following on Court 4 with a 6-1, 6-2 rout.

#5 Singles ended up being the clincher for the Beavers as rookie He picked up his second match point of the day, winning 6-1, 6-3.

After a grinder of a first set that required a tiebreak to decide, Andrew Zabelo surged through his second set in #2 Singles for a 7-6(2), 6-1 match to give the Beavers their sixth match point.

Head Coach Adam Clark and the Beavers will next face No. 8 Williams College on Wednesday, March 20 at 10 a.m.
