The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its April 24, 2024 national and regional rankings with the Caltech men's tennis team and three players among the best in the region and the country.
The team is currently ranked fifth in the ITA West Region, also good for 31
st in the nation for Division III men's tennis. Indicative of Caltech's intensely competitive conference schedule, they ranked fourth among the five Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) programs that made the regional top 10.
Senior
Kyle McCandless (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) was ranked No. 9 of the regional top 20 for singles play, also moving up in the national rankings to 42
nd. Rookie
Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne (Paris, France / Lycée Jean de La Fontaine) also made the regional list at No. 11, followed by senior
Daniel Wen (McLean, Va. / Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology) in the No. 16 spot.
McCandless and Wen additionally ranked third in the region and No. 22 in the country for doubles play with 13 wins this season.
