Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Robert Hollar

Caltech Duels Whittier

Caltech Men's Soccer scored two first-half goals in a back-and-forth thriller at Whittier College in Whittier Wednesday night.

Senior Etienne Casanova (Saratoga, Calif. / Saratoga) opened the scoring in the 14th minute with his 7th goal of the season. The tally briefly gave him sole possession of the team lead in goals until sophomore Matthew Luk (Bel Air, Md. C. / Milton Wright) scored his 7th of the season to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead in the 40th minute. With the goals, Casanova and Luk are tied for the fourth-most goals amongst SCIAC players this season.

Caltech moved the ball well against the Poets as both Beaver goals were assisted. Sophomore Andrew Quinn (Cupertino, Calif. / Cupertino) set up the Casanova goal, while junior Ethan Feng (San Jose, Calif. / Lynbrook) found the feet of Luk on the 2-0 tally. Feng and Quinn each have two assists on the season.

The Beavers return home Saturday Oct. 18 at 2:00 p.m. to face Chapman.
