Caltech faced Piedmont University on Friday as the Beavers finished a two-game Georgia swing.
Sophomore Stuart Florescu (Toronto, Ontario / Crescent School) scored 20 points against Piedmont, matching a career-high high set against Whittier on Feb. 19 of last season. The center earned 33 minutes of playing time and was eight for 10 in field goal attempts on Friday.
"Stu had a great week of basketball and continues to improve on both ends of the floor," Caltech Head Coach Oliver Eslinger said. "He's important for our offense and defensive attack and for team connectivity."
First-year Dorian Glogovac (Vancouver, B.C. / St. George's School Vancouver) led the Beavers in scoring with 28 points. The performance marked the third consecutive game in which he has scored at least 28 points dating back to a 30-point performance against Cal Lutheran Dec. 6. Glogovac tied with sophomore teammate Chase Williamson (McDonough, Ga. / Union Grove) to lead the team in rebounds on Friday as well, as each player posted six boards.
First-year Finnegan Fancher (Ventura, Calif. / Ventura High School) was a bright spot defensively for the Beavers in the second half, with a +5 ranking in his 10 second-half minutes.
The Beavers will return home to face Amherst Dec. 30 in Braun Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m.
