Caltech Men's Basketball Tests Cal Lutheran in Road Contest

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Beavers continued their SCIAC campaign Saturday with the first of two games against California Lutheran University, showing continued growth and progress through a back-and-forth affair.

After Caltech dominated in close-range shots, out-scoring the Kingsmen 42-28 in the paint, and the Beavers erased a 9-point deficit in the second half with 11:47 to go. While the Beavers also out-rebounded the hosts, turnovers proved too costly to overcome as the hosts turned those 24 opportunities into 18 points and they held on for a 7-point victory.

Leading the pack for Caltech was first-year Dorian Glogovac (Vancouver, B.C. / St. George's School Vancouver), knocking down a game-high 30 points with 60% shooting from the field and a perfect nine-for-nine in free throws. He further contributed four rebounds, four assists and grabbed two steals while committing just one personal foul while playing the full 40 minutes without a sub.

Sophomore Josh Balami (Woodbury, Minn. / Math and Science Academy) followed with 24 points and 11 rebounds, marking his first double-double as a Beaver.

Head Coach Dr. Oliver Eslinger and the Beavers' next game is at home on Saturday, Dec. 13 against La Sierra University. The team will face the Kingsmen again at Caltech's own Braun Gymnasium on Feb. 7, 2026.
