Caltech Men's Basketball rallied with a strong second-half as The Institute hosted the Whittier Poets at Braun Gymnasium on Saturday.
Much of the Beavers' second-half success was a result of strong defensive play. Caltech held Whittier to just a 2-13 shooting performance from beyond the arc in the second frame.
On the offensive end, first-year Dorian Glogavac (Vancouver, British Columbia / St George's) led the way for the Beavers, scoring 16 of his team-high 20 points in the second half. Stuart Florescu (Toronto, Ontario / Crescent), added 18 on an efficient 8-13 shooting night. The countrymen finished tied for the team lead with 11 rebounds in the contest as each finished with a double-double.
Two other Beavers scored over 15 points in the game. First-year Ryan Rodrigue (San Diego, Calif. / Santa Fe Christian) sunk three of his four three-point attempts and finished with a career-high 17 points. Sophomore Chase Williamson (McDonough, Ga. / Union Grove) pitched in with 18 and led Caltech with five assists.
The Beavers host Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7:00 p.m.
