Caltech Battles Occidental

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Caltech Women's Water Polo turned in a spirited effort Saturday, April 11, on the road against Occidental, highlighted by a collection of strong attacking moments and contributions across the lineup.

The Beavers continued to press the action throughout the afternoon and found rewarding success on the offensive end with four goals against the Tigers.

Sophomore Medha Ravi (Saratoga, Calif. / Saratoga) supplied Caltech's first goal in the opening quarter, striking at the 5:20 mark to give the Beavers an early highlight. Senior Maya Dickson (Atlanta, Ga. / North Atlanta) then delivered in the second quarter, converting an exclusion opportunity with just four seconds left in the half to cap a determined Caltech push before the break. With that goal, Dickson completed the remarkable feat of scoring in every game she played this season for Caltech.

Caltech continued to create positive moments after halftime. Senior Mia Mutadich (London, U.K. / Notting Hill and Ealing High) added the Beavers' third goal in the third quarter, finding the net at the 2:31 mark to keep the offense moving. In the fourth quarter, junior Emma Titus (Hood River, Ore. / Hood River Valley) closed the scoring with an exclusion goal at 7:06, further cementing Caltech's ability to convert six-on-five chances.

Caltech also turned in a number of encouraging defensive plays, collecting five steals as Ravi and Dickson each came away with two.

Caltech has reached the end of its 2026 schedule and will look to build on the positives heading into 2027.
