Women's tennis was defeated 9-0 in their final conference
match of the season by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, the tenth-ranked
school in the county Saturday, April 12th. Caltech is now 1-10 for
the season while the Sagehens raised their record to at 11-7 for
the season. Despite a one-sided match the Beavers took something
positive away from the match. Caltech Frosh, Lili Yang,
(Stillwater, MN) said, “I need to practice against players
who have more power so I'll be prepared to play team's
like Pomona-Pitzer”. Coach Gamble is glad Yang learned from
her match and is looking forward to the young Caltech team to
continuing improving.
Caltech will play in the SCIAC Championships next Friday and
Saturday at the University of Redlands and will face the number one
seed, University of Redlands in the first round, who are also
ranked eleventh in the nation.
