PASADENA, Calif. -- The ClaremontMuddScripps women's tennis team posted a 8-1 win over Caltech Friday afternoon in a SCIAC match-up at the Braun Tennis Courts.

The Beavers got a strong match from Stephanie Kwan at the No. 2 singles spot. The sophomore produced a straight sets win to up her overall record to 6-0 in singles play.

"I am really proud of not only Stephanie's effort today but the entire team," head coach Mandy Gamble said. "This team is believing more and more in their abilities. I am excited to see what the rest of conference play brings."

The Athenas came into the match ranked 28th in the recent ITA Division III national poll.
