LA MIRADA, CA - The Beavers started the season on the right foot by recording a dominating 7-2 win over Biola on Saturday afternoon.

It is the third time in the last four seasons that Caltech has won their season opener.

During doubles action the Beavers won at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions which helped propel them to dictate singles play.

Caltech swept three of the six singles matches without dropping a single game. In winning five of the matches during singles play, the Beavers lost just seven games in those five contests.

Monica Li (No. 2), Jenny Sheng (No. 3) and Michelle Lee (No. 4) all won their singles matches without dropping a game. At the No. 1 singles spot, Rebekah Kitto lost only one game in her 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Senior Michelle Tang rounded out the Caltech singles wins with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the fifth spot.
