Caltech finished up a busy three-day stretch with a pair of matches against two SCIAC and regionally ranked foes.
The Beavers dropped a tough 6-3 decision to Whittier on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday Caltech fell to La Verne 8-1.
Whittier came into the match-up ranked eighth in the ITA West Region while La Verne held a ranking of fourth in the region and 15th in the nation.
The three-match, three-day stretch began with a victory over Occidental on Friday afternoon.
Highlighting the weekend matches was Monica Li. The sophomore, and 21st ranked player in the region, posted a pair of wins. She started her 24-hour streak with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Adrienne Hamada on Saturday then posted a hard fought three-set win over La Verne's Jeanette Losaria
Caltech will return to the court on Saturday afternoon when they square-off with 13th ranked Redlands at 10 a.m.
