Women's Soccer Tightens, Holds Redlands in Second Half

Box Score

PASADENA (Oct. 17, 2018) – The Caltech women's soccer team played the University of Redlands tough once again on Wednesday afternoon, holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the second half of the two teams' second SCIAC meeting.

A Caltech defense led in the middle by freshman Schuyler Dick (Hudson, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore Nayla Abney (Sewell, N.J. / Deptford Township) limited the Bulldogs to just six shots on goal and an even seven total shots between the two halves. Sophomore goalkeeper Kali Drango (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego) made four big saves to keep the Beavers close, providing her team with attacking chances all the way to the final whistle. Each of the Beavers' three shots on goal from sophomores Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills), Netra Ravishankar, (Fremont, Calif. / American) and junior Noelle Davis (Fort Worth, Texas / Texas Acad. of Math & Science) provided the Beavers with quality chances to shrink the Bulldogs' lead.

Head Coach Taylor Houck and the Beavers will play their final home match this Saturday at 11 a.m. for Senior Day against visiting Chapman University.
