Women's Soccer Finds Defensive Rhythm Against CMS

Box Score

PASADENA (Oct. 4, 2018) – The Caltech women's soccer team's defensive unit recovered from a pair of quick goals to hold visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges scoreless for over 50 minutes between both halves of Wednesday's SCIAC game.

The defense, once again led by the likes of freshman Schuyler Dick (Hudson, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore Nayla Abney (Sewell, N.J. / Deptford Township) blocked three shots from the visitors themselves and helped limit the damage between the first and second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Kali Drango (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego) made seven saves over the full 90 minutes and sophomore Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) and freshman Zoe Rock (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) each picked up one shot on goal.

Head Coach Taylor Houck and the Beavers will return to North Field on Saturday, Oct. 6 when they host Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for their second meeting of the season.
