Caltech Scores Pair Against CLU

Box Score

PASADENA (Oct. 2, 2019) – The Caltech men's water polo team found the back of the net on two different occasions against California Lutheran University in Wednesday evening's SCIAC home game.

The Beavers' first goal came on a dish from junior center Steven Csaposs (Davis, Calif. / Davis) to freshman Max Bricken (Portland, Ore. / Westview) in the second quarter. Caltech's final goal of the game came courtesy of freshman Neil Sanderson (Laguna Beach, Calif. / Winchester) from sophomore Alex Wang (Saratoga, Calif. / The Harker School) in the final minutes of regulation. Throughout the game, the Beavers generated quality chances but succumbed to the Kingsmen's sound defensive gameplan on more than one occasion, forcing several shots to ricochet off the post or just miss the cage. Senior Bradley Justice (El Cajon, Calif. / Grossmont) and freshman Wei Foo (Hacienda Heights, Calif. / Troy) split time in net with each goalkeeper coming up with a pair of saves.

Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will next head to the Gary Troyer Tournament to play McKendree University and Connecticut College on Saturday, Oct. 5. Both games will take place at the University of La Verne.
