CLAREMONT, Calif. (Apr. 15, 2022) - The Caltech women's tennis program knew they were in for a significant challenge on Friday afternoon when they went on the road to take on the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.  Taking on the nation's second ranked DIII Women's tennis program is daunting, as the Sagehens only loss of the year came at the hands of the University of Chicago, the nation's top ranked program.  Pomona-Pitzer, ranked number one in the west, was everything that their ranking claimed they should be, as they knocked off the Beavers 9-0 inside the Edwin Pauley Tennis Center.

 

While the 7-8 (2-3 SCIAC) Beavers competed and gave outstanding effort, it was clear that for all the progress that the Caltech program has realized, that there is still more work to be done in continuing to reach for new heights.  They will get their next opportunity to realize continual improvement when they go on the road on Saturday, April 16 to take on the Tigers of Occidental College.  The match will take place in Eagle Rock starting at 10:00 am.
