Box Score PASADENA, Calif. (Apr. 2, 2022) - Needing to find their footing after tough matches that went their opponent's way, the 18th nationally ranked and 5th regionally ranked men's tennis program hosted the 38th nationally ranked and 11th regionally ranked Chapman University Panthers on Saturday, looking to level their 2022 SCIAC record and get back in the win column. The Beavers' goals for the morning match were accomplished, defeating Chapman 6-3, moving their record to 9-5 (1-1 SCIAC) on the year.
Leading the way for Caltech was the play of juniors

Ishaan Kanaan (Scarsdale, N.Y. / Horace Mann) won convincingly on the second doubles court, 8-2 to get the Beavers on the board and level the match at 1 win each. Will then proceeded to post another win for the Beavers, knocking off his singles opponent (6-1, 3-2 retired) playing on court 3.
Gundakaram also played an important role in contributing two points to the overall team win when he teamed with junior
John Kim (Cupertino, Calif. / Menlo School) in winning 8-5 in #3 doubles, while Gundakaram also was victorious at 6-2, 6-3 in his singles match.
Kanaan, the #17 ranked singles player in the West Region played a hard-fought match against Chapman's Caleb Wilkins, the 3rd ranked singles player in the region per the most recent rankings. Kanaan lost the battle 3-6, 4-6 but more than set the tenor on the day with his doubles win and hard-fought singles effort.
