TEMPE, Ariz. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2025 Men's Tennis Preseason Team Rankings on Wednesday, with Caltech claiming the No. 35 spot among all Div. III programs in the nation. The rankings are determined by the results of the Top 40 Coaches Poll as voted on by ITA Region Chairs who compose the ITA National Ranking Committee.

The Beavers have jumped up seven spots since last season, which saw them finish at the No. 42 spot in the end-of-year rankings for 2023-2024 back in June. 

While last year saw a team full of experienced players, this year returning seniors Aditya Srinivasan (Rochester, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherland) and Bharathan Sundar (Southborough, Mass. / Algonquin Regional) take the helm of a team charged with youth, joined by Andrew Zabelo (Florham Park, N.J. / Newark Academy) as the team's three upperclassmen.

Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne (Paris / Lycée Jean de La Fontaine) and Eric He (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan) also return for their second season, looking to improve upon their already very impressive rookie campaigns. Finishing with a singles record of 15-3 and 14-4 respectively, the two led the team in singles wins last season.

In addition to returning players, the Beavers welcome first-year Kenneth Chan (Hinsdale, Ill. / Pine Crest) to their roster, and are excited to put his skills to use once the season is fully underway.

Come see the Beavers on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. as they host the Concordia University Irvine Eagles for an exhibition match. The season officially begins the following week, Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. as Caltech plays host to the visiting UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.
