CLAREMONT, Calif. – Caltech Women's Tennis took on the nationally-ranked No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday afternoon, dropping the match 6-1.

The Beavers put up a formidibale fight in doubles but could not come away with a point. All three of the matches were decided by a 6-4 score with CMS taking the first point of the day.

Senior Anika Arora (Fremont, CA / Mission San Jose) tallied the Beavers' only point of the day as she took down her opponent, Emily Ing in a closely contested match. Arora won the first set in a seventh-game tiebreaker by an 8-6 point margin. She dropped the second set before battling back to take the super tiebreaker 10-7. With the win, Arora improves to 5-3 in singles on the season.

First-year Carissa Gerung (Portland, Ore. / Jesuit) fought hard in her match, falling short in the tiebreaker third set after a strong start that earned her a 6-4 opening set score.

Despite the loss, the Beavers are still on a roll. With ranked wins against Mary Washington and Colby College, Caltech looks to bounce back in its next matchup against the Hope International University Royals on Tuesday, April 1. Action will begin in Pasadena at 3 p.m.
