Box Score No. 31 Caltech Men's Tennis earned an impressive singles win in a duel with No. 19 Gustavus Adolphus, one of the top teams in the nation, on Wednesday night.
"There were moments when we really fought back hard," Head Coach Adam Clark said.
Junior Eric He (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan) earned a win in his singles matchup in a tight 7-5, 7-5 bout. He broke serve at least once in each sets on his way to victory. He has won both of his singles matches this calendar year and has not lost a singles match since April 2025.
"Eric played a really tough and gritty match tonight," Clark said. "I'm really proud of the leadership and grit that he displayed tonight and I know it must feel good for him to get this win. It will be the start of a great season for him."
No. 31 Caltech returns to SCIAC play hosting Chapman Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m.
"I'm excited to see how we take the lessons from this match and use it for a really fun season moving forward," Clark said.
