Adam Alnazer Joins Caltech as Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach

PASADENA, Calif. – Caltech Athletics has named Adam Alnazer as its new Head Coach for the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field programs.

Alnazer joins the Beavers after working the last two years with the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens. During that time, the men won two SCIAC titles and two NCAA West Region titles, placing 3rd and 8th at the NCAA Championships. The women finished second in the conference both years, placed top-four in the region, and earned a best finish of 14th at the NCAA Championships.

Before Pomona-Pitzer, Alnazer returned to his alma mater of Hartnell College to coach and teach. He guided athletes to eight All-Conference honors, including four individual conference champions, along with four All-Region and two All-American honors. All told, Adam has coached 28 All-SCIAC athletes in cross country, 14 on both the men's and women's sides. He has coached 19 All-West Region athletes and six All-Americans in cross country. On the track side of things, Adam has coached 21 All-SCIAC athletes and 6 All-Americans.

Alnazer began his running career at Hartnell, earning All-Conference honors twice, along with All-Region and All-State recognition. He transferred to Western Oregon University, where he was a two-time All-GNAC selection in the 800 meters, and earned his B.S. in Exercise Science. He then competed at Azusa Pacific University, earning All-PacWest honors in the 800 meters while completing his M.S. in Physical Education with a minor in Sports Management.
