The Caltech soccer team put it all together today to knock
off the visiting Tigers of Occidental College. The Beav's
basking in the California sun and the friendly confines of
their lodge managed to stymie the visitors. The scoring began
with a goal for Caltech at 26:30 mark in the first half when #2 Jonathan
Yueng scored off an assist from #7 Dan Kahn. The
Beavers took their 1-0 lead into halftime and came out to repeat
the scoring process this time Khan setting up #23 Brice Nzeukou at
the 60:15 mark putting Tech up 2-0. The Tigers scored their
only goal of the contest at the 68:10 mark. Stingy Beaver
goalkeeper, Marcus Lucas had 8 saves on the day and Coach Rolando
Uribe took his first Gatorade bath of the 2009 season.
"We have been working hard to put a complete game
together, we played very well at La Verne earlier in the week, the
pieces all fit into place today" commented Coach Uribe.
Next up for Caltech is a home match with the Poets of Whittier
College on 10/28 at 4pm and then a trip to Claremont to take on the
