PASADENA, Calif. – In SCIAC men's soccer action
Saturday afternoon at Caltech's North Field, Redlands scored
four first half goals and never looked back in posting a 6-0 win
over Caltech.
Jamie Griffin got the scoring going in the ninth minute when he
headed in a corner kick from Gabe Ramierz. Griffin scored his
second just over four minutes later when he took a pass from Cody
Carlson through the middle and scored from five yards out.
Redlands (9-1-2, 8-0-2 SCIAC) added their final goals of the
opening frame when Ethan Low and Pat Roraff scored in the 27th and
40th minutes respectively. Low scored on a penalty kick while
Roraff blasted a shot to the left side of the net from five yards
from an Alex Laughton feed.
The visitors added to their total when Carlson scored a
goal from a Griffin pass in the 58th minute. Roraff scored his
second goal of the afternoon when he made a run through the middle
and beat Caltech (1-10, 1-8 SCIAC) goalie Marcus Lucas in the 75th
minute.
The conference leading Bulldogs posted a 21-4 edge in shots and
a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks in posting the victory.
