Box Score ORANGE, Calif. – Sophomore goalie Marcus Lucas
posted a nine save effort but it wasn't enough as three different
Chapman players scored a goal in a 3-1 victory over Caltech Monday
evening at Wilson Field.
Another bright spot for the Beavers came from Kunmi Jeje who scored
the first goal of the season for the Beavers (0-5) in the 90th
minute. The forward found the back off of a long feed from Lucas.
It was the first collegiate goal for Jeje.
After firing a myriad of shots they couldn't get past Lucas, the
Panthers got on the scoreboard in the 30th minute when Nick
Echeverry took a feed from Chris Duran as Chapman took a 1-0
lead at halftime.
Mauricio Alfonso gave Chapman a 2-0 cushion with an
unassisted goal in the 60th minute. Francesco Onorati rounded
the Chapman scoring with 2:37 left in the contest.
Chapman (6-5-1) posted a 12-3 advantage in shots on goals while
holding a 3-0 edge in corner kicks in posting the victory.
The Beavers return to the pitch on Thursday afternoon when they
face conference foe Pomona-Pitzer at 4:00 p.m.
