PASADENA, Calif. -- Cal Lutheran posted an 11-3 win over Caltech Wednesday evening in a SCIAC women's water polo contest.
The 11 goals allowed by Caltech were the fewest this season in a SCIAC contest. Aiding in the solid defensive effort was goalie Kati Peters. The senior tallied 12 blocked shots in the contest, making six saves in each half.

Cal Lutheran opened the scoring when Christina Messer scored with 4:52 left in the first quarter but the Beavers responded with an Erin Hoops goal less than three minutes later.

The Regals took the lead with 23 seconds left in the opening frame on a Jacueline Grant goal. A solid second quarter defensive effort by the Beavers limited Cal Lutheran to one goal in the frame as the visitors took a 3-1 lead at the halftime horn.
Cal Lutheran pushed their lead to 5-2 early in the third quarter before a Hanna Dodd goal with 3:51 left brought the Beavers within 5-3. However, the Regals closed the period with two unanswered goals to take a 7-3 lead heading into the final period. Cal Lutheran scored the final quarter's only four goals to seal the win.
Hoops, Dodd and Karen Dowling each posted a goal for the Beavers.
The Regal offense was paced by Jane Galluzzi's hat trick. Lauren Ray and Messer each chipped in two goals.
The final home game of the season for Caltech is Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. when the Beavers face Whittier at the Braun Pool.
