PASADENA, Calif. — The Caltech Women's Water Polo team delivered a spirited and competitive performance at Braun Pool on April 8 against Whittier, showcasing offensive balance, defensive hustle and continued growth as a unit in SCIAC play. 

Caltech came out strong in the opening quarter, setting the tone early with decisive attacking play. The Beavers capitalized on their opportunities, jumping ahead behind multiple early goals and demonstrating sharp ball movement and confidence in the offensive zone.  

Senior Mia Mutadich (London, U.K. / Notting Hill and Ealing High School) led the way offensively for the Beavers, turning in an outstanding performance with four goals, consistently finding space and converting chances in critical moments. Her scoring touch paced the Beavers' attack and helped Caltech enter the second quarter with the lead.  

Senior Maya Dickson (Atlanta, Ga. / North Atlanta) also made a major impact, contributing two goals and an assist. Dickson's presence was felt throughout the contest as she helped initiate scoring plays and maintain momentum during key stretches. She was fundamental to Caltech's success on the power play, scoring once on a penalty and once more with a six-on-five advantage. Overall, Caltech scored four goals on either penalties or exclusions.  

Defensively, Caltech stood out with a strong emphasis on effort and disruption. The Beavers recorded an impressive 14 steals, showcasing alert positioning, quick hands and a commitment to winning possession battles. Dickson paced the Beavers with four steals while first-year Kylin Elliott (Hood River, Ore. / Hood River Valley) contributed three steals to go along with her two assists.  

The Beavers complete their season against Occidental on April 11 at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
