PASADENA, Calif. – Bethesda Christian scored five goals in the first half and never looked back in their 6-2 victory over Caltech in a non-conference men's soccer match-up at Caltech's North Field.

The game's first goal came when Cheunyong Park made a nice run down the left side of the field and blasted a shot into the back of the net in the 10th minute. The Flames (4-0) put their second goal on the board less than five minutes later when Sunhyung Cho bent a free kick from 20 yards out into the upper left corner of the net. Park added his second goal of the afternoon when he took a feed from Yungil Choo in the middle of the field before beating Caltech (0-1) goalie Juan Pablo Ocampo one-on-one with just over 15 minutes left in the opening half.

Esli Avila scored two goals in less than two minutes during the closing minutes of the first period as the Flames took all the game's momentum into the locker room. During the first stanza the visitors posted a 10-0 edge in shots on goal in taking their commanding lead.

The Beavers first goal of the 2011 campaign came when Yishun Dong found the back of the net from eight yards out off an Alex Wein pass in the 58th minute. Hunter Sceats scored Caltech's second goal of the day in the 86th minute when he chipped the ball over Flames' goalie Enrique Romero.

A late goal by Brett Dean in the 90th minute rounded out the afternoon' s high scoring contest.

The Flames put 19 shots on goal while the Beavers put three shots on target.

Ocampo tallied 13 saves during his collegiate debut in the goal for the Beavers.
