The Beavers opened the season with convincing back-to-back wins over Biola University and Hope International University before dropping three SCIAC matches, all to ranked opponents in No. 38 Whittier College (6-3), No. 19 University of Redlands (9-0) and No. 9 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (9-0).

"We started off with two good wins and really played three solid matches against some very good nationally ranked teams," Head Coach Mandy Gamble said.  "We're looking better every time we step onto the courts, and we're hitting a good section of our schedule where we can show that."

Gamble and the Beavers will host Principia College (2-3) on Saturday, Mar. 7 at 11 a.m. and Trinity (Texas) University on Sunday, Mar. 8 at the Riviera Tennis Club before a two-week respite preceding Spring Break.
