Percin Scores Twice at DIII t-No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer

CLAREMONT, Calif. (Apr. 6, 2016) – Freshman Brittany Percin (Moraga, Calif. / Stanford Online) scored another pair of goals to maintain her SCIAC-leading goal-per-game average in a Caltech women's water polo defeat at Division III tied-No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sagehens came out on fire, building up an 8-0 lead by halftime and scoring the first goal of the third quarter before Caltech got on the board.  Senior Soumya Kannan (Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry M Gunn) extended her streak of scoring in every game this season with the Beavers' first tally and senior Stephanie Wong (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula) added a strike on her only attempt of the game in the fourth quarter.  Caltech held Pomona-Pitzer scoreless in the fourth quarter but the hosts claimed the 14-4 victory.

Junior Mary Boyajian (Sun Valley, Calif. / Village Christian) made two field blocks and dished out an assist to pull within one of tying the single-season program record.  Kannan added two steals and drew two exclusions while Percin also made two steals and scored her two goals on five total attempts.
