Como Stops Seven at CMS

CLAREMONT, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2018) – Sophomore goalkeeper Joe Como (Glen Cove, N.Y. / Friends Acad.) added seven saves to his resume for the Caltech men's soccer team at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Wednesday evening.

Halfway through the season, Como now has 73 total saves and has seen his save percentage increase by nearly four percent. Through nine games, Como and the Beavers' defense have led the men's soccer team to a 2.73 goals against average, down nearly a full point from last year's average (3.65). Together, they held CMS off the board for the game's first 33 minutes. Freshman Samir Johnson (Portland, Ore. / Jesuit) generated Caltech's best offensive chance and sophomore Rohan Mirchandani (Pleasanton, Calif. / Foothill) compiled three total shots.

Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will head back to Claremont on Saturday, Oct. 6 to face Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at 7 p.m.
