PASADENA, Calif. (Mar. 13, 2018) – Caltech goalkeepers Sarah Kreider (River Forest, Ill. / Oak Park and River Forest) and Elaine Lowinger (North Miami, Fla. / Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Biscayne Bay Campus) brought their 'A' game and made a series of athletic fingertip saves for Caltech women's water polo against visiting Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Tuesday evening.

The sophomore Kreider had seven saves while the freshman Lowinger had four saves in limited action. Kreider, who got the start in net for Caltech also stopped two of her first three shots to set a tone for the rest of her teammates. Additionally, sophomore Gabriella Chan (Colleyville, Texas / School for the Talented and Gifted) dished on both of Caltech's goals, first to junior Gemma Takahashi (San Jose, Calif. / Leland) and later in the third period to junior Katie Johnston (Livermore, Calif. / Livermore).

"I was very proud of my team's performance," Head Coach Jon Bonafede said. "We were brave and we learned as our team is really starting to gel together and build more collaboration and cohesiveness."

Bonafede and the Beavers will hit the road for their next four games, but will remain in California for their Mar. 14 game at the University of La Verne.
