Percin's Return Impactful Against CMS

Box Score

PASADENA, Calif. (Mar. 31, 2018) – The return of junior Brittany Percin (Lake Tahoe, Calif. / Stanford Online) made a clear impact on the Caltech women's water polo team in its defeat to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday morning.

With Percin back in the mix after extending her swimming season by qualifying for her first NCAA National Championship meet, the Beavers' improved communication and organization as a team was quite evident.  Junior Katie Johnston (Livermore, Calif.  / Livermore) netted a pair of goals for the second straight game while Percin wreaked havoc in the hole set, as evidenced by her seven shots with one finding the back of the net and four exclusions drawn.   Sophomores Samantha D'Costa (San Jose, Calif. / St. Francis) and Mackenzie Wooten (Las Vegas, Nev. / Northwest Career and Tech. Acad.) registered assists on the Beavers' two goals from the field as rookie Elaine Lowinger (North Miami, Fla. / Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Biscayne Bay) made five of Caltech's seven saves in the second half.

Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers head to Occidental College on Wednesday, Apr. 4 for a 4 p.m. opening sprint.
