PASADENA (Mar. 6, 2020) – Two members of the Caltech women's water polo team scored goals at SCIAC powerhouse Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Sophie Devoe (La Jolla, Calif. / Bishop's) and senior Sunny Cui (Vancouver, B.C. / Sir Winston Churchill Secondary) put the Beavers on the board in the fourth quarter. Cui's goal came just outside the final minute in regulation, while Devoe led the visiting Beavers with an additional three shot attempts. Sophomore netminder Zoe Rock (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) made a pair of saves against a relentless onslaught from the first-place Sagehens, a team that has not lost a regular-season SCIAC game since 2017. 

Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will have an opportunity to lock down their first win of the young season when they host Penn State University, Behrend on Tuesday, Mar. 10 at 7 p.m. The Beavers beat the Lions last year in a memorable 14-11 triumph.
