Trautner Earns All-American Honors at Indoor Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (March 12, 2022) — Women's track team member Margaret Trautner (Houston, Texas / MIT) completed a successful finals day, earning all-American honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships on Saturday, March 12.  Trautner placed seventh in the women's mile final with a time of 4:58.13.  The graduate student and her breakthrough performance earned Caltech's first All-America honors at the Indoor Championships.  Furthermore, Trautner has earned the first All-America honors for Caltech women's track and field since 1983 when Karen Close finished 6th in the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.  In returning from Winston-Salem, Trautner will rejoin her teammates and strive to compete at the Outdoor Track Championships in May.
