MEDFORD, Mass. (March 5, 2022) - Graduate student Margaret Trautner (Houston, Texas / MIT) placed 1st in the Women's Mile event at the Tufts National Qualifier Meet this past weekend, clinching a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship meet.

Trautner set a new personal record with a race time of 4:57.09, outrunning her previous PR of 4:57.18 set at the 2020 Tufts National Qualifying Meet during her senior year at MIT. Moreover, the grad student's outstanding performance ranks her 7th in the Women's Mile event for Division III this season.

Trautner will be running the Mile event at the 2022 Indoor Track & Field Championships, taking place this coming weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Women's Mile Prelims are scheduled for 1:00pm EST / 10:00am PST on Friday, March 11, while the Final is scheduled for 2:30pm EST / 11:30am PST on Saturday, March 12.
