Caltech Cross Country was spectacular at the SCIAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Strehle Track in Claremont.
The Beaver women scored a total of 143 points, placing 5th place out of all SCIAC teams. Senior Gigi Pistilli (Portola Valley, Calif. / Woodside) placed 18th out of 110 runners with a time of 22:50.90. In addition, Pistilli won the Celia Peterson SCIAC Award, honoring her sportsmanship, athletic ability and academic excellence.
The Beaver men scored a total of 134 points, placing 5th out of all the SCIAC teams. Sophomore Stephen Goehringer (Wellesley, Mass. / Wellesley) made a sensational run, as he finished with a time of 26:10.40, placing 20th out of 121 runners.
Up next for Head Coach Kelli Blake and the Beavers are the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championships Saturday, Nov. 15 on the same course in Claremont, Calif.
