Box Score No. 30 Caltech Men's Tennis won two of the three doubles matches against No. 18 Redlands Sunday, finalizing the regular-season as the Beavers turn towards the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
The Senior Day victories came courtesy of Caltech's regional-No. 9 partnership of sophomore Eric He (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan) and junior Andrew Zabelo (Florham Park, N.J. / Newark Academy) along with sophomore teammates Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne (Paris. / Lycée Jean de La Fontaine) and Tejas Ram (Allen, Texas / Allen). Both teams won their matches, 6-3. Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne and Ram have compiled an incredible 11-2 doubles record as a pair, making the pair the No. 6 ranked partnership in the west region. Each player in the partnership has 12 doubles wins this season (11 as a pair), one shy of the Beaver record for single-season doubles victories.
Seniors Aditya Srinivasan (Rochester, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherlandand) and Bharathan Sundar (Southborough, Mass. / Algonquin Regional) played their final regular-season match of their careers against Redlands. The two took the court as a pair Sunday, and were recognized for their contributions to Caltech Men's Tennis prior to the match.
Attention now turns to the SCIAC postseason tournament, where Caltech, the #3 seed, will again play second-seeded Redlands. The postseason rematch will be played Thursday, May 1 at 5pm. in Redlands.
