Caltech Competes in The Master's Cross Country Invitational

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Caltech Cross Country returned to action Saturday at The Master's Invitational at The Master's University in Santa Clarita, California. The Beavers' second meet of the 2025 season pitted them against 20 other teams across all NCAA divisions, NAIA, community colleges and one club team.

Sophomore Stephen Goehringer (Wellesley, Mass. / Wellesley) took 33rd place with a time of 25.56.30, breaking his personal best by over 30 seconds. He finished just in front of first-year teammate Aiden Cope (Mapleton, Utah / Maple Mountain High School) who finished 34th in 25.57.40. Junior Ryan Fortin also broke the top 40 finishing in 25:58.80.

On the women's side, two Beavers set personal bests. Sophomore Katelyn Sadorf (Boca Raton, Fla. / Spanish River) set a personal best of 23:36.90 in the women's 6k, finishing in 41st place out of over 200 runners, many of them from Division-I schools. Fellow sophomore Raquel "Rocky" Lample shaved two minutes off her personal best finishing in 25:15.70.

Head Coach Kelli Blake and the Beavers will head to Claremont, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 4 for the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, a valuable tune-up for the 2025 SCIAC Championships which will also be hosted by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
