THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Playing their first conference game in three weeks, the Beavers faced-off against nationally ranked Cal Lutheran on Friday afternoon.

The sixth ranked Kingsmen scored runs in five of the six innings they came to plate as they posted a 17-4 victory.

The Beavers scored the game's initial run in the first inning. Thomas Kwok led off the game with a single up the middle and scored three batters later on an Albie Lavin single.

Over the next few innings the SCIAC's best offense took over. The Kingsmen scored three runs in each of the next three innings then added a pair of runs in the fourth inning to take an 11-1 lead. Cal Lutheran uncorked 12 hits during their 11-run outburst over those four innings.

After scoreless fifth inning for both teams, Caltech put a pair of runs on the scoreboard in the sixth inning. The Beavers loaded the bases with one out as Daniel Chou, Harrison Jacobs and Oliver Curtiss all singled in consecutive at-bats. Chou scored on a John Galden fielder's choice for the first run. During the next at-bat Caltech pulled off a double steal as Galden stole second base and Jacobs swiped home.

In the bottom half of the sixth inning Cal Lutheran secured the game by scoring six runs on five hits. Atherton Kniseley and Griffin Mullen provided the big blows in the inning as they each had a hit for extra bases and two RBI's.

Caltech's final run came in their last at-bat in the seventh inning when Lavin scored on a two-out double by J.D. Feist.

During the game a handful of Beavers extended offensive streaks. Lavin has now reached base in 11 consecutive games while Chou extended his streak to 10. Tim Menninger and Kwok pushed their hitting streaks to seven games.

Seven different players had two hits for the home team.

Tyler Hebda went the first four innings and struck out six to earn the win on the mound.

The two teams play a doubleheader on Saturday hosted by Caltech beginning at 11 a.m.
