Seniors Celebrated in Season Finale

Box Score

PASADENA, CA - In the final game of the season the Beavers nine honored a pair of seniors who were playing their last contest in Caltech uniform.

Albie Lavin and Thomas Kwok both played a significant role in helping the baseball program. Lavin was a four-year starter while Kwok was a steady starter for the two years he was with the team.

Lavin leaves Caltech tied for most games played (130) and at-bats (410) in school history. Lavin played every spot on the infield expect first base and catcher. Kwok started 47 of the 52 games he played in. Kwok was third on the team this year with a .310 batting average.

Tuesday's game went in La Verne's favor as the visitors banged out 20 hits in their 21-2 victory to help them secure a spot in the conference's post season tournament.

Joe Winterburn led the offensive output for the Leopards by goig 4-for-5 with seven RBI's and three runs scored. Ben White also contributed a four-hit afternoon.

Kwok went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Lavin drove in a run with sacrifice fly in the third inning.
