PASADENA, Calif. — Caltech Athletics officially announced the 2023 Women's Soccer schedule on Thursday afternoon. This season will see the team battle several nonconference opponents at home before facing off versus a slew of talented teams in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). The group will play 15 regular season games this fall as they try to top their
historic 2022 campaign.
The Beavers will hold a home exhibition versus Life Pacific on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. before officially opening their season on Friday, Sep. 1 at 10:30 a.m. in a home matchup against Linfield.
The group will begin conference play on Wednesday, Sep. 13 at 4 p.m. at nearby Occidental in what should be an exciting rematch of their thrilling 2022 battle. Last fall, Caltech forward
Jennifer Solgaard found the back of the net in the 88th minute to give the Beavers a
1-0 victory over the Tigers and their first SCIAC win in program history.
Another notable game to watch will come on Saturday, Sep. 23 as the squad heads to La Verne for a 7 p.m. clash. The two schools
drew 1-1 in their first matchup last season before the Beavers
topped the Leopards 1-0 on Caltech Senior Day thanks to some more late-game heroics from Solgaard.
The Beavers will host their conference home opener on Wednesday, Sep. 27 as the team hosts the Poets of Whittier College at 4 p.m.
The program's final game of the season will be a Senior Day home matchup versus Occidental on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m., the second of two scheduled games between the squads this fall. Last year's big win versus the in-conference rival came in a home contest. Caltech will honor its seniors with a ceremony prior to the game.
