Caltech Men's Basketball Welcomes Class of 2028

PASADENA, Calif. — Caltech Men's Basketball will add three high-level newcomers from the Class of 2028 as the Beavers take on competition this winter.

Head coach Dr. Oliver Eslinger's rookies will look to make an immediate impact to a team who returns nine rising sophomores, one rising junior and three rising seniors. The trio's size and skills look to propel the squad through an exciting 2024-25 season.

Please welcome the newest members of Caltech Men's Basketball:

A high school standout, Balami will help Caltech immensely with his shooting and scoring skills.

"Josh can flat out score at all levels," said Eslinger. "He put up huge numbers in high school – scored 30+ multiple times and even had a triple double. He can be a go-to guy when a bucket is needed and is excited to expand his game on defense and as a playmaker."

Florescu will give the Beavers some size while also being able to space the floor with his shooting ability and overall agility.

"A true big man, Stuart plays with physicality and an attack mindset," said Eslinger. "He can score in various ways down low and can step out, face up, and hit the 3. He is very agile and can guard all positions on the court. He will become a floor leader and force for us."

A high-energy ball handler out of Georgia, Williamson will look to make an instant effect on the team with his wide-range of dynamic attributes.

"Chase is an explosive, high-motor lead guard who can score at the rim and shoot the 3," said Eslinger. "He enjoys making plays for others, is electric in transition, and can provide much needed offense. Defensively, he is capable of putting a lot of pressure on the ball."

The three newest Beavers will strive to make significant contributions to a young squad who is hungry to take a step up in 2024-25. Stay tuned for an official schedule release later this summer.
