LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 All-Conference awards Thursday morning, naming Caltech first-year
Dorian Glogovac (Vancouver, B.C. / St. George's School Vancouver) the conference's Newcomer of the Year.
"I wouldn't have been able to achieve this without the support of my teammates and my coaching staff," said Glogovac of the high honor. He is just the second Beaver to earn this accolade, following Noah Barnes '22.
Glogovac earned the title after impressively leading the confernece in scoring as a first-year with 22.7 points per game. The dynamic wing also ranked second in three-pointers made (2.5), seventh in rebounding (6.6) and free-throw percentage (.796) and 10th in field goal percentage despite a league-high shooting volume (271 attempts) while playing the most minutes of anyone in the SCIAC (36.6 per game).
Head Coach
Dr. Oliver Eslinger underscored the magnitude of leading such a tough basketball conference in so many categories. "To be a first-year player and lead the SCIACÂ in scoring is a tremendous accomplishment, but to be top-10 in rebounding and so many other categories is quite a feat," Eslinger said. "Dorian didn't back down from double-team defense, or having teams throw their best at him. He also led the conference and all freshmen across the country in free throws made and attempted."
Glogovac highlighted the teamwork element for making this achievement possible. "Everyone puts in a lot of trust, everyone from the experienced starters down to our bench, plus our alumni and even our Sports Medicine team all played a huge part in this season," he said. "Our team is a product of all the great players and people who came before us, and it's an honor to be able to share the recognition and help build the program. It was tough to lose so many teammates to injuries, but it required the rest of us to step up and come together as a team."
