PASADENA, CA – Caltech allows a goal with 90 seconds remaining to fall to SOKA, 3-2 in the last game of the season. 

SOKA opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Marco Timm headed home a corner kick from Edgar Cruz.  Cruz floated the ball to the back post and Timm outjumped his marker and headed it in the net. 

SOKA was able to double their lead in the 33rd minute when Tanner Chadwell took a shot from outside the box.  He collected the ball after it was bouncing around, but when he collected it he fired the shot into the upper corner of the net leaving Wesley Swank with no chance. 

Caltech didn't quit on senior night though, as Paolo Bertolotti pulled back a goal in the 39th minute.  Bertolotti was challenging a back pass to the goalkeeper along with Alec Sands.  Bertolotti deflected Danny Smyth's attempt at a clearance and then knocked the bouncing ball into the opening net to pull Caltech back into the game. 

Caltech evened the score in the second half when Kunmi Jeje scored in the 53rd minute.  Brice Nzeukou headed down a Thomas Kwok corner kick, but SOKA goalkeeper Danny Smyth knocked it wide.  Jeje collected the rebound and put it in the back of the net to even the scoreline. 

Caltech had numerous opportunities to take the lead as Alec Sands and Jeje flirted with the offsides line, hoping to get on the end of some good through balls.  Both had opportunities as did Mitchell Arene and Nzeukou.  However, Caltech was unable to grab the lead.

Bryce Arenson made sure the Caltech seniors wouldn't go home happy when he scored with 90 seconds remaining in the game.  Caltech was dominating the possession and the chances, but Arenson collected a ball over the top from Edgar Cruz and while coming down the right side of the box knocked a shot across frame into the side netting to give SOKA the last minute winner. 

Caltech will say goodbye to 12 senior soccer players including Nzeukou, Swank, Arene, Jeje, Alex Wein, Vishnu Manoranjan, Alan Menezes, Mikhail Sushkov, Hunter Sceats, Rongxiao "Nicky" Zhang, Dan Sotolongo, and Sarah Wright.
