PASADENA, Calif. – Caltech Men's Basketball hit the floor in Braun Gymnasium Monday night in a physical matchup against the Whitman College Blues of Walla Walla, Washington.
Squaring off against a starting five with an average height of 6'5", the Beavers overcame an early eight-point deficit and then held pace with the visitors for a 37-37 tie at halftime. First-year
Dorian Glogovac (Vancouver, B.C. / St. George's School Vancouver) led both teams in points, exploding for 21 in the second half en route to a 34-point effort, just nine shy of the program record for single-game points. He drained five three-pointers amid 15-for-19 shooting from the field and was perfect in his three free throw attempts. He additionally led the Beavers in rebounding with seven boards.
Sophomores Stuart Florescu (Toronto, Ontario / Crescent School) and Chase Williamson (McDonough, Ga. / Union Grove) also held their own with 11 points each, with Williamson also collecting six rebounds.Â
Head Coach Dr. Oliver Eslinger and the Beavers return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 to open SCIAC play at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
