PASADENA, Calif. — Caltech Athletics announced on Wednesday the 2023 men's soccer schedule.

The team will compete in 16 regular season games this fall as the program looks to top its memorable 2022 season, in which the team achieved its second-highest win total in 30 years. This season, the team will face a number of nonconference opponents before taking on the squads in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

Head coach Duncan Gillis' group will kick off the year with a home exhibition match on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. as the Beavers host the Flames of Bethesda University. The team will then head north to Oregon for its official season opener, where they will face the squad from Lewis and Clark College on Sep. 1 at 7 p.m.

The team will compete in its home opening game on Wednesday, Sep. 6 as the Warriors of Life Pacific University come to Pasadena for a 4 p.m. showdown.

The Beavers will head back on the road one week later as they clash with Occidental at 7 p.m. in what will be Caltech's first matchup of conference play. The group will return to the Institute for their home conference opener on Saturday, Sep. 16 at 11 a.m. as the Beavers host the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens.

Caltech will compete in another significant game one week later, as the team goes against the University of La Verne in a home clash on Saturday, Sep. 23 at 11 a.m. Last year, the Beavers swept both contests against the Leopards, picking up a thrilling 2-1 victory at home before nabbing an even more exciting 2-1 road win to close the season.

Later in the season, the Beavers will host the 2022 SCIAC champion Chapman University Panthers on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. Last fall, Caltech earned an impressive 3-3 tie on Senior Day over the conference's first-place team.

The squad's final game of the season will come on Saturday, Oct. 28 in a home match against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The group's seniors will be honored with a ceremony before the contest kicks off at 2 p.m.
